What to do for a "Run away" loco

March 25, 2024 06:33AM avatar
The other day at lunch in Chama, several of us got off topic and onto what would be the recommended steps to take on a runaway loco...

Scenario: Steam Loco, East bound from Cumbres... and you have a ruptured "Dry Pipe" giving full boiler pressure to the cylinders...... What steps to take?
