Butler was hired just before news of the lawsuits was publicly discussed on the RYPN forum and then mentioned in a long thread on this forum. My comment at that time asked if he was informed about the lawsuits before accepting the position. If not I said he was stepping into a snake pit not of his own making and wished him well. That may well have been the situation he got himself into.
On the other hand, Ed Beaudette is both a very hard worker and one of the nicest men on the railroad. Many if not most of us know him personally. My last seeing him was my ride on the Goose last fall where he was conductor on the excursions. At that time he was fighting a bad cold or flu but fought through it to give us a great trip. I wish him the best going forward as he knows the issues the RR faces.
