All five Sumpter Valley Mikes were wood burners at this time. Ten wheeler #50 was also still in service and a wood burner. All other SVRy steam engines were retired by 1935. Numerous geared engines on associated logging lines were still burning wood. The Mount Hood Railroad converted their Mike #1 back to wood during the depression. Not sure about the Mount Hood / Oregon Lumber Co. Mike #11. Lorane Valley Lbr. Co. was another one in western Or. that burned wood late.
