Trying to read the tank car number it appears to me to be # 88159 which according to Robert Grandt's NG Pictorial Volume 4 (page 176) was of an unknown heater type and was not classified in the comments as to use. It is also unusual to see the dome handrail mounted vertically. Since this batch of photos was all taken in Durango during 1954 is it possible it was used for diesel fuel oil for US 4700N?
