There is some information here [www.drgw.net] about Mike Burk operating the Lake City branch as the "San Christobal Railroad" . The goose that ran was originally created in 1928, and the line was purchased by Mike Burk in Feb. 1934 per drgw.net. The SC Goose was being rebuilt in 1934, and was returned on Jul 20, 1935 per the article.
The Lake City News article is dated Feb 15, 1934, it would have been at the same time as Mike Burk purchased the line. He may have leased a locomotive, as the goose was still in Denver being rebuilt at that time.
