That Matisa Tamper has been a lemon ever since it was acquired in the 1980's. I don't think it ever did an honest day's work. The bad part was the C&TS traded two 9600-class pipe gons to the D&S for it. The D&S got two cars that were rebuilt into open cars that have made them thousands of dollars, the C&TS got a white elephant.....

The Matisa has a D&RGW legacy. It was bought by them for use on the Silverton Branch in the 1970's.

It belongs in a museum.
