Ed and Prince Andre(this can't be true)
The MeWuk's are planning many different things for the WestSide property and it may include the railroad, but probably not with Brad Milne who recently purchased the Shay and Porter from Nevada. Both those engines are up in Washington State where Brad lives and has a business. Currently the tribe is in negotiations for the 6.2 miles of Sierra RR right of way from Standard to Tuolomne and the West Side property from the Parks Department. See story here for latest update: [www.uniondemocrat.com]
A few years back, Turn Back trestle was burned and Brad Milne has tried to replace some of the missing trackage, most of which is still in place up to River Bridge. The indian tribe is restoring some of the buildings on the property and will incorporate some of the history into what they are trying to accomplish. There will not be a casino as the West Side property is not Federal Indian Land.
As for the other three locomotives Brad and others mentioned, they were the narrow gauge Hawaiian Phillipine Sugar Cane engines he supposedly paid for and never got. He was partnering with Brook Rother in Georgetown, CA and now I see Brook got two of the supposed engines.
Believe me, my source who is a member of the tribe, tells me that the MeWuks will do something to incorporate the railroad, those plans are way off in the long term.
