This color shifted slide scan which was taken in the early 1970's, was next up in my rotation through our SVRR Archive and I momentarily debated whether it was worth sharing. What could I really say about it? Then it dawned on my why this location is special. Look at the second image which was taken by Hank Griffiths Jr. in Aug. of 1946. He captured that scene with Sumpter Valley Ry. #251 headed up grade. Mr. Griffiths was standing on the hill over by the right side of the color photo. This location is near Salisbury as far as stations on the old SVRy. The vehicle bridge with the added wooded reinforcement is still in place today. Sure wish we could recreate Hank's scene!
