That's almost the same thing that happened to the marker lamps on the Combine. The fancy doorknob and plate on the combine, ostensibly stamped for UPD&G ended up in what I was told was a "California collectors basement... for preservation"0. In other words, he stole it begore anybody else did.

Shortly after the CCNG opened in Central City (within a day or two), the original marker lamps on the Combine disappeared.

The marker lamps on the 71 took a bit longer to vanish I think that the remaining one was gone around 1969-1970.

Another thing that went missing was an original C&S single tie switchstand that was placed there (it was a 3-way if I remember correctly).

I hope that the collectors (aka vandals) were happy.
