Good morning,
A friend in Arizona enclosed his carport with timber siding and as soon as the job was finished the woodpeckers attacked. The noise was unbelievable. Tried fake owls, painting with a chile powder mustard mix - nothing worked. Had to re-sheet it with aluminium siding.
What has this to do with narrow gauge - nothing but attached is a photo of one of the first locomotives on Queensland Rail. Modified with air brakes so she can run heritage tours around the metropolitan area of Brisbane. All tracks in Queensland are still 3'6" gauge - even the multi-loco 10,000 tonne coal trains.
Queensland Rail (Government!) has a heritage fleet of locomotives that are maintained by the Government and used for railfan tours - on Queensland Rail's maintines.
