D&RGW 5900 series Stock Car Question (model content)

I have been working on a unique 1:20.3 narrow gauge project: scratch building a 5900 series stock car. Now that I’ve finished construction, I need to paint and weather the car. I’m aware that the Rio Grande did not paint the insides of many of their freight cars, but did they paint the inside of stock car bodies and if so was it black like the exteriors after 1926? Any help will be appreciated.
