Thanks for posting those photos, This is something I had hoped to see in the summer of 1958, when we came through the Owens Valley on a return family trip from LA to New Mexico. I had only the vaguest idea of the existence of a narrow gauge railroad there. We made local inquiries about train operations, but did not succeed in seeing trains. Anyway, this being a family trip, our time here was limited. It is still amazing that 65 years later that elusive steam operation could be captured in photos like the ones you posted!
