Only 39 years and a bit less than 11 months ago!  It's hard to believe that steam was still in regular mainline passenger service when my daughter Cindy was born in March of 1984.

Your story brings back memories of the early sixties, when the Orange Empire RR Museum was still the TROLLEY museum, and New Years was celebrated by at least half a dozen air horns bleating and blaring at midnight.  OETM was way out in the country back then, so it's doubtful that we woke up any neighbors.  That's not the case today.
