Narrow gauge friends:
I thought there was something familiar about this thread. There is a more inclusive source on this road in Duane Ericson’s book,
Sonora Narrow Gauge: Railroads, Mines, Trams & Scams South of the Border. Published by the author, copyright 2010.
Chapter 4 is entitled “The Torres y Prietas Railway/Ferrocarril Mexican Union,” pages 21-44. The loco roster is given as follows:
#1 4-4-0 Hinkley? Purchased from Denver Circle Railroad in 1896.
# 2 4-4-0 Baldwin #5042, 4/1880. Ex-D&RG #85. Probably from dealer.
#3 4-4-0 Baldwin #5198, 7/1880. Ex-D&RG #88, Pur. 1920 from Carmen Island Salt Co.
1920 per Best.
#4 no info.
#5 2-8-0 Baldwin.
#6 2-6-0 Baldwin #37811, 6/1912.
