Move was completed in 2019. This is southwestern Colorado, the "weather side" changes daily. We have had no trouble with the sides open, we get very little accumulation of rain blowing in that stays more than a few minutes, or a day or two for snow in the winter, relative humidity here is typically around 15% or so. RGS coach 252 is nearing completion, principal needs are now period correct shades for the windows and a second period correct (or accurate reproduction) chandelier. We plan to do the shades in 2023, chandelier is REALLY expensive. We now run free rides every Saturday during the summer season (roughly May 1 through October 15) in Motor 1, inspection car 1 (reproduction of WD Lee's Model T used by the RGS 1913 - 1925), and in the D&RG caboose pulled by our recently acquired Plymouth Locomotive Company switch engine. We also have acquired an open gondola converted to passenger use (formerly Georgetown Loop car). Our operations track is just over 1/2 mile in length. Check out our website at www.ridgwayrailroadmuseum.org and google Ridgway Railroad Museum to find our facebook page, with several videos of our equipment in operation. Goose 4 belongs to the Telluride Fire Department, but since we did a 4-year, body off restoration about 10 years ago, they store it for the winter here at the museum for weather protection, returning it to Telluride for static display between around Memorial Day and Labor Day. When it's here, we get to use it for free rides in May and in September and October.
