Hopefully Scott Gibbs will step in and answer with more info from the C&TS.

One of the more frequently used methods for repairing castings other than brazing is the lock N stitch method. Lock N stitch Inc is the go to company. This method here is what I'm talking about.

This type of repair is a good option.

As for the grates, CRRM is working with the C&TS to have new grates cast for 168.
