Nice repsponse. Exactly what I was looking for. A picture of a "gold box car" with the earlier style "flying Rio Grande" herald. Page #136 was what I was looking for. Thank you all.
For follow-up:
A) When was the "flying Rio Grande" herald first used ? Any related history to that logo ?
Should I understand that the color pictures I have seen of box car #3134 and #3749 (by Dave Dye) were cars later selected by the D&SNG to be painted "grande gold" ? Any idea when those cars were changed over ? and ...
C) Were there any box cars painted "grande gold" when the movie Denver and Rio Grande was filmed ? Any record of what rolling stock was used for that film ? It's been quite a while since I looked at that movie. My first (educated)guess, about the "gold colored box cars" would have been to look at sources when the gold color was first introduced for the film.
Though I found my answer on page #136... my inquiring mind wants to explore the "gold box cars" a little bit further.
Thanks again.
