The RWR shot at the NG Motel shows 464 fresh from the Alamosa shop making a test run down the valley to Antonito. If all went well it would be cut in as a helper on the next westbound freight to Chama, then on to Durango. I imagine there was a westbound freight folllowing 464 by a couple of hours.

464 was sold to Knott's in 1973. By then the mainline to Alamosa was history. 464 would have been trucked to Albuquerque and loaded on a flat car there.
