I enjoyed seeing your video of 484 in action in 2022. It brought back memories of a first encounter with 484 62 years ago, in the summer of 1960.
Engines 484 and 499 were steaming quietly in Durango in the early morning, and were to go out on a Chama-bound freight later in the day.
There was some time to watch the hostlers start to prepare the engines for their run, but having tickets to ride to Silverton behind 476 left only limited opportunity to see action with 484 and 499 that morning.
It would be three years before I saw 484 in action again. Hopefully there will be no such gap this time around. Thanks for the video.
