One of the few such shots that I remember seeing the past several years is this one by Ernie Robart of #476 in Chama on 05/28/68

She had been the road engine out of Alamosa on the so-called 'Mad Dash' one-day run-through to Durango, but apparently there was a problem with her fire, as Ernie also got this shot of her parked over the ash pit a few minutes earlier

While #476 was having her fire cleaned and water, fuel & sand replenished #478 took over as road engine and headed west. #476 caught up to her train a mile or two short of Gato, and became the helper from there to the top of the hill at Arboles.
