#497 At Chama

This was taken by Dick Harrison at Chama, NM., probably in 1967. Many fine photos have been composed with engines taking water, and occasionally at the coal chute, but filling the sand domes seems to be less common. Mr. Harrison took the less common shot here of #497 having her sand dome filled. I personally like seeing #497 in a shot, because the three James', that is my dad, my son and I rode behind her to Cumbres in 2000. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
