Somewhere along my searching on past ngdiscussion threads I came across the claim that the “turntable bridge” on the Georgetown Loop might have been the turntable span removed from the west portal after the 1910 closure of the route through Alpine Tunnel. I’m sorry I don’t recall where that thread is anymore. Has anyone else ever heard this idea? Is there any evidence to support it?
