While some hand signals are pretty much standard industry wide it is also true that there were a lot of places that had their own set made up to meet their particular operation. Our car shop engine crew had some dandys. For instance, how would you tell the engineer that we are going to pull down to the Duck Pond , set out 17,cross over to the West side and weigh and then tie up and go eat? I wish I had a video of that set!!
