If anyone would like to see a color view of #0574 taken in 1946 at Salida, look in Sundance's "Trails Among the Columbine"`1993/1994.
Page 12 clearly shows white handrails, ladders, steps and cut levers. The pea green interior can also be seen. A top view of maybe the same caboose on page 16 shows the black roof and painted roofwalk. White was more common in the late 1930's to 1940's. Silver came into use in later years. The same caboose #0574 on page 21 shows silver trim in 1955.
