Here we are up In Skagway, Ak. with White Pass & Yukon Route #80. #80 and #81 were of course built in 1920 for the Sumpter Valley Ry. in Oregon. They came from Alco numbered 101 and 102 but were almost immediately renumbered to 20 and 19 respectively which fit in the Sumpter Valley's existing number scheme. Both engines were sold to the White Pass at the beginning of the year in 1941. Both engines were long out of service in 1977 when SVRR acquired them and returned them to Oregon. #80, now back to #20 sits behind the McEwen back shop, awaiting a future restoration. The scan is from the SVRR Archive.
