Don't have any photos of the rear of 455 pre-wreck, but I personally don't think it had numbers on the rear of the tender at that time other than the small numbers used by the D&RGW on pre-Flying Grande heralds. If it did have numbers on the rear I assume it would resemble what we saw on 461 in this photo. I'd say go numberless or use small numbers like we see on 463 below, my opinion though.
