Here are two shots of the replacement ash pan for RGS #20. The air vent openings on the sides are made from lines of drilled holes to duplicate the originals.
The top edge of the pan sits right against the mud ring of the boiler, and the bottom surface of the grates are just above the mud ring rivets.
