That was probably a Jim Trowbridge special. I wonder if 1998 was the year the narrow gauge convention was in Durango? I think Jim (and Frank Stapleton?) ran something unusual to handle a larger than normal group, which would explain all the rider boxcars. And might explain some of the strange consists. At one point it looks like they turned around at Big Horn. Other pix from that trip suggest my primary interest on the trip was the triple headed regular passenger trains that happened occasionally during the fall. Wonder when the last time was that the C&TS ran a triple headed passenger train.
