I do metadata entry for a university library and my most recent project is uploading pictures from various collections provided by the families of Women Airforce Service Pilots. In one collection is a series of photos taken by one veteran around the 80s and 90s, mostly of vet reunions and the like, but some are just sightseeing. Well, whadayaknow, I'm going through them when an undated photo she took of D&RGW 168 pops up, sporting a straight stack. I needed to enter a date range as accurately as possible so I came here to dig around and figure out when 168 changed in Colorado Springs from a balloon stack. I used the answer (John Bush did it in the early-80s) to give the most accurate date range.

Not sure what the point of this post is except to say that you never know when the narrow gauge community will come in handy!
