The only early (labeled "pre-1891") photo of Rockwood I know[1] of does not show the depot. It's in Cinders & Smoke[2] and is credited to DPL Western Hist. Dept.. I'll leave it to those with faster connections to find it and put it up here.
Almost as many mules/asses on the street as people.

[1]Of course now that I've said that, someone will find a half dozen or so pictures all of which show the depot at least in part!

[2] In the Historical Notes section, on pg 52 (2nd ed, 3rd printing), pg 66 (5th edition, 21st printing), or pg 77 (7th edition, 33rd printing). In the 7th edition it is cropped a bit more than earlier years.
