Actually both lines in Greg's video are still in business. The Oberweisenthal line is now called the Fichtelbergbahn. Eastern Germany has five 750mm gauge lines that operate daily, one 900 mm gauge line that also operated daily plus the well known meter gauge Harzquerbahn. In addition, there are four or five 750mm gauge lines that are operated by enthusiast groups and a couple of 600mm gauge feldbahn museum groups.

Do visit the Harz but you would also do well to visit the Dresden area where four of the 750mm gauge lines are within easy driving distance.

Gotta love the dual departure from Eisfelder Talmühle shown in Greg's video. The only way to see that today is with a charter group. Ditto for the famous double departure at Alexisbad, also on the HSB. The double departure from Bertsdorf on the 750mm gauge Zittau line is still ongoing with regular service trains.
