A couple of related questions.
(1) Someone said they had a steam line into the dog house for heat. Is that true?

(2) What did they do if they had to do a #1?

(3) What about a #2?

I imagine it could be a long time between stops, or maybe not with water stops and switching!

(4) What about food....bring your own I guess. No using the shovel in the firebox unless he was riding up there.

(5) As head-end brakeman was his job to get switches, couple and uncouple and maybe some flagging, or other duties as well?
