Olaf, I was stationed at Yokota Air Base from 1961 to 65. A JNR branch line ran between the runways and base housing. Limestone trains pulled by D51s passed all the time. I rode a bike to work and had to wait for trains hundreds of times. During one of my Air Force moves, a box containing all my negs and slides from my time in Japan got lost. I have a few proof sheets and some prints and that is all. I have often wondered who ended up with my photos. I have kept my eye out for them in Japanese railroad magazines and web sites. My late wife, Anne, was Japanese and her family sent me the railway magazines regularly. Shot most of them with my first Nikon, an S3 range finder.
