There was a private concern that wanted to start passenger trips over Cumbres in the 1960's (if I recall correectly). They were going to get several Mexican passenger cars for trips over the D&RGW. Apparently, they never got together with the D&RGW to run trains. I guess the D&RGW was more interested in abandonment than upgrading the track for tourist passenger service over Cumbres.
Hinman I think is the name of one of the people of the aborted company invloved.
How it became property of the C&TS I haven't a clue.
