Hi Meuritt
I just watched the debut of # 9, the locomotive that just got rebuild, and back in operation. The sounds you hear in the video are normal, don't forget, number 9 is still a geared locomotive. And all those gears have to mesh, once the locomotive gets more broken in, she will quiet down a little.
Here in New England the closest Climax we have running is at Clarks Trading Post, in New Hampshire, she makes a little noise also, but as I said that is normal, for that type of locomotive. I hope that answers your question. take care, Pat.
