Where did you get the photos, Olaf – were you riding that train?

Also, it the top photo both the eccentric rod and the eccentric crank are missing – did the main rod knock them off when it bent, or do you know if it was the bearing on the crank that failed first, causing the valve gear to 'freeze' with the piston at the rear of the cylinder? As you say, quite "artistic" in any event.
