I would hold on to your tickets, at least until the beginning of summer. By then, I think we should start to get a better idea whether or not the vaccination program has had a significant effect. Chris is spot-on with regard to the US response to this virus. The Feds pretty much left the pandemic response to the various states and the results have been all over the map. Some responded with robust efforts and some totally screwed the pooch. In my state, the official guidance is that they will be opening up vaccinations to people under 65 in April. I'm not holding my breath. Special events before July are an iffy proposition. After that, the combination of warmer weather and the effect of the vaccine program may start to give us hope.

I am planning on being there. If I have to wear a mask, so be it. I will enjoy it regardless.

The restrictions in Oz may seem a bit draconian, but lives have been saved as a result. Sometimes, it is worth giving up some of our personal freedoms to help save others.
