Very few locomotives re-boilered in the 1910's kept their builders plates. Additionally, if a locomotive got a new smokebox applied, the builder's plate was usually not reinstalled. Most every D&RGW narrow gauge locomotive in existance today from before 1923, that is sporting builder's plates, has had replicas cast, as they disappeared many years ago when the locomotive was in regular service.
FYI, all the K-36's have replica plates. They were all
removed stolen while still in Alamosa in the mid-late 1960's.
