You will notice that there is a Nevada State Museum in both Carson City (the original one) and Las Vegas. Similarly, the first Nevada State Railroad Museum was in Carson city and then one in Boulder City (near Las Vegas) was created.
The largest population center in Nevada is Clark County (Las Vegas and surrounding urban areas) with the southern portions of other counties within commuting distance. The Reno/Carson City urban areas is a distant second in population. The rest of the state is lightly settled and largely rural with some mining, sprinkled with population centered at the county seats and along the interstate travel corridors.
