Maybe Roger can measure one for us when he's down in the yard tomorrow morning (hint, hint).
The classic shape of the mid-Twenties K-36 boiler & domes echoed that of the early-Twenties S.P. P-8 Pacifics, and undoubtedly many other Baldwin locomotives, but I'm guessing the standard-gauge engines not only had larger smokebox fronts, they had larger doors on them as well. See [
