Well, we have (had) The Union Pacific, the Denver Pacific, the Oregon Short Line, the Cheyenne & Northern, the Union Pacific, Denver & Gulf, Colorado & Southern, the Fremont, Elkhorn & Missouri Valley, the Chicago & North Western, the Wyoming & Northwestern, the Burlington & Missouri River, the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy, for short lines there was Wyoming Railroad (Buffalo to Clermont, WY), the Saratoga & Encampment Valley (Encampment, WY to Walcott, WY), the Wyoming & Missouri River RR (Aladdin to Belle Fourche, SD). The Laramie, Hahn's Peak and Paciic RR (Laramie (via Walden, CO) to Coalmont, CO). Wyoming North and South Railroad,

The interesting thing about the "Peak", according to Jim Eherenberger, is that it was surveyed as a 3' gauge railroad and planned as a 3' gauge RR, and built as a Standard Gauge Railroad. Jim has a copy of the original prospectus and it shows lines going everywhere, to Fort Collins, Steamboat Springs, you name it, just like the majority of railroads back then.

And of course, the Wikipedia page:

The DM&E has yet to make an entrance into Wyoming.

As for the remarks about our population, all true. We have more pronghorn (antelope) than people. We have only a bit more than half a million people here and would not make a good sized suburb of Denver. Of course we residents love to promote our lack of amenities, our horrible winters and our incessant winds. That's why JP and I live up here...
