Update: Our annual work week will be September 21 - 25 (postponed from June), we provide lunches. Painting cars, track work, restoration work on RGS coach 252, training on operations of Motor 1, Inspection Car 1 (Model T) and Goose 4 after 2 pm each day. If you plan to attend, please email me at j and k pet AT montrose.net (with no spaces) so we can plan for lunches.
RR days will be September 26 and 27 at our permanent location at 200 N. Railroad St. (the railyard). Reduced program from usual due to the pandemic, but we will have free rides on Motor 1, Inspection 1 and Goose 4 each day, and tours of the railyard. Special lecture 7 pm Saturday evening at the Ouray Elks Lodge, Karl Schaeffer will give a powerpoint on "Steam Returns to Ridgway" about the RGS 36 project.
We plan to move Goose 4 from Telluride this coming Tuesday (was originally scheduled for last Tuesday but the contracted semi broke down). Goose 4 will remain in Ridgway until Memorial Day weekend next year.
Our regular work days are Tuesday and Saturday mornings, with free rides on Motor 1 on Saturdays until mid to late October, depending on Weather.
