D&RGW #279 apparently still survives in Mexico. Three photos of the locomotive can be found at the web address "http://www.mexlist.com/photo/cuautla/" The text with the photos states that, "...the engine is Baldwin Loco Works builder #55110 built in 1921. The locomotive was originally #204 and renumbered to #279 in 1930. It was sold and went to Mexico in June 1959 Also, apparently the locomotive was still steaming in at least 2001, but it suffered a craked member and its future is uncertain". The web site has a little more information about the locomotive including its current location. If its future is uncertain, wishful thinking would be to have its future home having a Colorado address.
Sincerely,
Andy
