Thanks for all the good feelings, progress is slow on 61 for obvious reasons but is coming along. The shell of the boiler is actually quite useable as the original engineering was very conservative, allowing a great deal of wastage before falling below a safety factor of 4. However, the smokebox and inner firebox are requiring almost complete replacement. The destroyed cylinder has also been repaired at this time. There are certainly far better candidates for restoration out there but this is the one I own and the work is enjoyable.
