John, these are both beautiful photos and they show the dramatic steam scenes really cold mornings can produce. Back in the 1961 to 1965 era I exchanged multiple letters and photos with Vernon Glover about the SP Cloudcroft branch and the associated logging lines. Periodically he would mention heading out or just returning from photographing steam at Flagstaff. I never managed to go there myself at that time, but Vern should have some great photos of steam action in the 1960s. I am glad you had a fortuitous generator failure. Those generator losses seemingly were common back then and in my case led to a unique adventure in narrow gauge country that I plan to relate on the forum in the future.
