She's alive! Sounds as square as a new dollar! And she has a voice. Great little hooter!
This wonderful old gal got me into narrow gauge at the tender age of 14 thanks to a 1954 Trains Magazine article by Morris Cafky, "Lady with a Past." I got the magazine in 1959, used, and was in love with that little sweetheart. I talked my folks into going through Alamosa on our 1959 Denver trip so I could stop at the Narrow Gauge Motel and get acquainted. Alas, she and the 42 and the 318 were long gone and no one there would tell me to where. After that trip I did some research and found the CRRM in Golden and in 1960 I finally met the Lady.
Hard to believe that 60 years has past since my mother shot that photo of that punk kid in the gangway. 20 really started something, beginning with me hand laying HOn3 in the fall of 1960. And I'm still modeling the RGS.
