It would be extremely unlikely that your Japanese book collection would include this book that my friend Mineo gave me at the end of our 10-day 1973 steam chase in Hokkaido. The book was published by his uncle and is entirely 11x16 B&W photos spread over two pages ( I find this very distracting as each photo has the binding crease in the middle - not something I have ever seen in any other book, but the photos are dramatic). I am attaching one half of one that reminds me of the zig zagging tracks east of the Los Pinos phone booth). And thanks for that link to Japanese steam photos. I have not looked at all yet, but I think there are some really outstanding photos, including a section on the C55 class 4-6-2s that I really liked, engines with a pencil thin boiler and big drivers
that we rode and chased on the northern tip of Hokkaido to Wakkanai.
