Re: SLRG 1744 at Fir - Clear Stack

We have a video coming out this fall on 1744. It was shot a month after your visit. It was a Trains Unlimited photo charter the weekend of September 20-21, 2007. It was the only Photo special ever operated with the 1744 to the best of our knowledge. The first day was a freight and the second a 4 car passenger train. The loop is in there a couple of times and both sides of the grade are depicted. Ron Burkhard was the leader of the tour, and shot the video. Earl was in charge for the SLRG, and both of those guys have helped with info, and other things. There is some great stack music and scenery. Less than a month later Oct 14, 2007 1744 made what turned out to be its final run!!! Hopefully it will get restored to run again at Niles, CA.
Nice photo. If I were running it I would have made some smoke for you Bill!!!
