IMHO such antics are not at all unusual, Greg -

Many, many years ago some foamer asked a staff member at the CRRM if he could drive his silver & black VW van onto the property and pose it next to similarly-painted RGS Motor #2, which the docent graciously allowed him to do.  I still haven't found the resulting slide, but there's a photo of the van at [ngdiscussion.net].
