As half of the restoration crew I just thought I might just post a couple of thoughts.
We would like to thank all the members of this forum who have left such kind and encouraging messages whenever we have posted progress reports on the forum. Bob and I have had a great time working on the car but have also really enjoyed meeting many of you at events like Narrow Gauge Conventions and narrow gauge special events at some of our favorite Colorado railroads.
As Wayne posted, I too enjoy reading and viewing photos of work being done on narrow gauge equipment by fellow narrow gauge enthusiasts. I have great respect for the many people on this forum who have first hand experience working on projects such as ours and have been willing to share information, techniques and even parts that have been very useful on our project.
We also really enjoyed finally meeting the crew who is doing the fine job restoring 1006, it has been great fun comparing notes and sharing information with them.
By the way, if anyone happens to have an authentic C&S brake staff ratchet and pawl that might be available please P.M. me, they are some of our last missing parts.
Thanks,
Richard Farmer
